This section of line was opened along with the line from Hedon Rd. Jct. - Anlaby Rd. Jct. when a service between Hull (Victoria Dock) and Hull (Mansion House St.) was introduced from Wed 01/06/1853. This service was short-lived and withdrawn from 11/1854, but in the meantime the line from Hedon Rd. Jct. to Withernsea had opened from Tue 27/06/1854. This lasted until services were diverted to Hull (Paragon) over the line from Craven St. Jct. - West Parade Jct. from Wed 01/06/1864.
