C; DRS; DSW all give closure date for Carr House as 01/10/1868. The Railways of Consett and North-West Durham D&C 1971 p65 confirms, stating "On 1 October 1868 the short loop line from Hownes Gill to Consett ... was opened, and passenger trains were diverted to Benfieldside (RN Consett 1882), the Carr House station being closed". CPLGB p19 gives Fri - 05/06/1868 for section of line and Carr House station.
