The inclusion of this "section of line" is debatable. Although effectively a terminus station, it was essentially on the "line of route" of the main line south towards Hartlepool. Indeed, Cobb atlas shows Seaham Harbour station as such, on the main line and PNM lists Seaham Harbour as a station closure only. However, CPLGB shows it as a section of line, Seaham - Seaham Harbour.
