Glazebrook East Jct. - Heaton Mersey East Jct. continued in use by seasonal dated trains until LTR ? BR (LM) 14 Jun 65 - 17 Apr 66 Table 96 shows 0852 SO 26 Jun - 4 Sep only Stockport Tiviot Dale - Liverpool Central (through train from Sheffield Victoria). The train does not appear in the LM tt from 6 Mar 67. Presumably this had ceased running on or before the abrupt and legally questionable closure of Stockport Tiviot Dale station from 02/01/1967 - see Heaton Mersey Jct. - Romiley Jct.
Skelton West Jct. - Cheadle Jct. continued in use for seasonal dated trains until LTR Sat 06/09/1969, the last being the 1000 SO Sheffield - Llandudno and 1428 SO Llandudno - Sheffield, both dated trains 14/06/1969 - 06/09/1969, or were they?
This information is correct according to BLN 153 06/05/1970. However, these trains continued to run to the same pattern (i.e. NOT calling anywhere between Sheffield and Prestatyn) until 1975 inclusive. From 1976 the trains ran via Manchester (Victoria) as the 0833 SO Sheffield/0842 York - Llandudno and the 1335 SO from Llandudno - Sheffield/York. Without checking the Working Timetables it is impossible to confirm the exact route from 1970 - 1975. Did the trains still use the Northenden route or go via Manchester non-stop?
Skelton West Jct. - Northenden Jct. continued in use for seasonal dated trains until LTR Sat 04/09/1971, the last being the 1625 SO Llandudno - York dated 12/06/1971 - 04/09/1971 - BLN 202 p79.
Skelton East Jct. - Northenden Jct., along with Northenden Jct. - Stockport Edgeley No.2 Jct., RO - Mon 15/05/1989 with the rerouting via Stockport of the Manchester (Piccadilly) - Chester service in anticipation of the closure and conversion to Metrolink of the Cornbrook Jct. - Deansgate Jct. [Timperley] line.
