Line severed by flooding between Strata Florida and Aberystwyth on Sat 12/12/1964 and service was suspended. As the line was scheduled for closure this section was not repaired and, as no Sunday service was in operation, closure took effect from Mon 14/12/1964. Train service continued between Strata Florida and Carmarthen and a connecting bus ran between Strata Florida and Aberystwyth until closure from 22/02/1965 - BLN 26.
Abergwili Junction - Danycoed RO by the Gwili Railway as a preserved tourist railway.
