BLN 1044 p135/07-510 reports that the "NLL between Canning Town and North Woolwich, the line from Stratford, .... closed to all traffic with the withdrawal of passenger trains on 9 December 2006." This statement is ambivalent and could be read as closing on and from this date, or that it was the LTR date. DSW page for North Woolwich confirms that the last train left North Woolwich at 2337 on Sat 09/12/2006. A Sunday service was in operation at the time of closure. A commemorative special ran on Sunday 10/12/2006.
Northern section of route from Stratford Low Level to approx. midway between Canning Town and Custom House utilised for DLR extension to Beckton and Woolwich Arsenal.
Southern section from west of Custom House point west of former North Woolwich station utilised for Crossrail to Abbey Wood.
